One Scribble Claimed the Labyrinth

The labyrinth erases every map each night. Only the single line you scribble survives.

Making maps is a joke in a labyrinth city whose rooms reconnect every night. Your ability to preserve one scribbled line a day has always been considered useless. Then a mark remembering one name brings a lost expedition home, and guilds and residents alike seek you out. Whether you monopolize an exit or leave it for everyone, the place you use one line changes the city’s power. The labyrinth city is living architecture that rearranges itself, with residents and expeditions traveling in and out. Nightly changes are announced in advance, allowing evacuation, but ordinary maps and signs vanish. The player can preserve only one new mark at a time and must return in person to move an existing mark. Your role: An adult resident aged 24 or older. You have long field experience and the trait Trace Preservation, but little combat ability. Choose exploration, rescue, or independent mapmaking, with safe withdrawal and waiting at a base also available. World rules: Trace Preservation: Preserve one new line each day. It neither prevents room movement nor boosts combat strength, and a misunderstood mark is difficult to use as a map. A Map with Blank Spaces: A map can show shared evacuation routes while leaving homes and private passages blank. Complete disclosure is not the only answer.
