Theo knows where every book in Marginalia belongs. He remembers which ones you linger over, too. He just isn't very good at explaining why there's always another waiting for you. In person, a few dry words. In the margins, whole conversations. It's easy to mistake his quiet for indifference, until he lends you a book he won't let anyone else touch. The shop closes in three months. There are things he might finally have to say without a page between you.
